Lovable: From Lovable.dev to Lovable.com, Closing the Most Obvious Gap
Lovable.dev → Lovable.com
- Brand Misalignment
- User Confusion
- Limiting Growth

Lovable built an AI software creation platform around a simple idea: describe what you want, and the platform turns it into working software. Since launching in November 2024 the company has grown at remarkable speed, with more than 60 million projects created and apps built on the platform drawing over 900 million visits a month. In August 2026 it raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation, placing it among Europe's fastest growing technology companies.
One part of its digital identity kept drawing attention. The company operated on Lovable.dev while the exact brand match, Lovable.com, belonged to someone else, at the time home to an underwear business. The gap had become visible enough for users to point it out publicly, with one post on X pairing the company's valuation with the observation that Lovable.com still was not theirs.
The .dev extension had suited the first chapter, when software creation sat at the centre of the proposition and a developer-oriented extension reinforced the category. But Lovable's ambition has widened to becoming the place where people build and run their businesses, with tools spanning payments, integrations, security and more. A developer extension made less sense for a platform whose audience increasingly includes people who would never call themselves developers.
When the company secured Lovable.com, it turned the criticism into the announcement. Its reveal video opened with the original complaint, and the reply to the post that started it all needed only two words: look again. The accompanying announcement was shorter still, lovable.dev to lovable.com. The audience had already made the case for the upgrade. The company simply confirmed the problem had been solved.
